Animal
Care & Control (AC&C), formerly known as Animal
Control Services, and historically known as Rabies/Animal
Control, is pleased to announce their new philosophy of service!
Over
the years, the organization has typically been seen as either
a public health service or law enforcement agency. Times have
changed
Although there are strong public health and
law enforcement aspects involved in AC&C's operations,
they have adopted a new approach that better addresses Arizona's
mandates and meets the community's expectations of animal
welfare and control.
AC&C
is a full service animal organization that offers the community
many valuable programs and services such as:
|
|
- Shelter for lost and stray animals
- Adoption programs to place dogs and cats in loving homes
- Field services throughout the Valley
- Education programs
- Human-animal bond programs
- Low-cost vaccinations for dogs and cats
- Help for families who are having trouble caring for their pet
|
Did
you know that AC&C...?
- Is one of the largest animal control programs in the United States and rescues over 56,000 animals a year!
- Serves 24 of the fastest growing cities and towns in the country – home to 3.4 million residents and their pets!
- Has been able to reduce Maricopa County’s euthanasia rate to 8.5 euthanasia’s per 1,000 residents through its very aggressive and innovative spay & neuter programs!
- Receives only 4% of its operating income from the county. The rest is generated from pet licensing, contracted field services and PRIVATE DONATIONS!
- Has achieved several months of no euthanasia of healthy pets through our innovative outreach and adoption efforts.
With
your help, AC&C can accomplish even more!
